Week 9

Research This week we have began the research assignment on the job of your choice for the future. This task is a way for you to find out key information about the work that you are interested in, and possibly narrow down subject choices for you in the next few terms, for year 11 and level 1 NCEA. It is important for you to ask anyone that you know that is currently working within that position, to help you with your knowledge. It is also important for you to make sure that you complete all  of the tasks under the grade that you want to achieve. Good luck, this will be due on the last day of the term. Please see the below information as a recap, however you have been emailed this doc for your own reference too.

Week 8

The Real Game - Budget The start of this week saw us getting familiar with how to write a budget based on the money that you earn per week. So as a result of these discussions we completed a scenario based around earning minimum wage for 40 hours a week, and working out how much money y...

Week 7

The Real Game This week,  being camp week for the majority of the class, meant that we only had one class before everyone headed away. This class was where every student selected a number, and this number, without them knowing, was linked into a job that they would find out about over the net couple of weeks. This job had information regarding pay, hours worked, school subjects completed, and skills needed for the position. Students then found out some information regarding other jobs within the class, and how similar or different they were to their own assigned ones. Some students were happy and some were disappointed, but thankfully all worked through the remaining tasks well.
